Best Buy, instead of letting their Black Friday ad get leaked online, went ahead and released it on their blog.  If you were curious to see what sort of Android-based products would be on sale come November 23, here’s a quick list.  You’ll find smartphones and tablets, some deals better than others.  Keep in mind that the phone prices you see will be with 2-year contracts, unless otherwise specified

We heard back in August about the LG Spectrum 2 for Verizon Wireless, and we also heard that it will be out sometime in early October. Though we still don’t know when Verizon will finally launch the LG flagship device, but it seems it will be out anytime soon, as the device appeared on Best Buy ahead of the announcement. Here you can see the device with the Verizon branding on it, and honestly the device looks really tempting.

On Best Buy, it’s priced at $649 without any contract, so hopefully when the device is officially launched, I am sure Best Buy will offer it with a 2-yr contract as well. The device is running on a 4.7 True HD IPS display, a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4  processor, 8MP camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chatting, and a 2150mAh battery.

So when the phone is officially out, are you planning to grab one from Best Buy or Verizon Store? Tell us about it in the comment box below.

This is a neat extension to the Best Buy trade-in program which will be extended with a little special treatment for people wanting to purchase a new Motorola Android device. Beginning April 8,  Best Buy customers will be able to save $50 on select Motorola smartphones across major carriers. All you have to do is trade-in any mobile phone at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores.

The idea is to trade-in your old phone while purchasing a new Motorola phone. They will give you the value of your phone, which will get you up to $50 off a new Motorola smartphone and a Best Buy gift card which equals the value of your old phone. Say you get $50 off the new phone and $100 gift card to Best Buy, that sounds great to me.

This offer to save $50 is available on three of the top award-winning Motorola smartphones, two year activation required:

In addition to this exclusive Motorola smartphone savings offer, customers can save $50 on any Sprint phone with 2-year activation and receive up to a $50 Best Buy Gift Card when they trade in their Sprint HTC EVO 4G.

Word on the street is that one can go into a local Best Buy and reserve themselves an HTC One X for AT&T’s network.  According to Droid Life, all you need is $50 down to secure the hot new Android 4.0 smartphone announced at Mobile World Congress this week.  There’s no indication yet as to what the final price point will be nor when you’ll actually be able to take ownership of the handset.

If you decide to head to your local Bet Buy or Best Buy Mobile store to pre-order your HTC One X, let us know what kind of situation you run into.  What’s the vibe at your store and do your sales reps have anything else to add?

My sharpie is starting to fade from marking up my calendar with all these possible Galaxy Nexus launch dates — but hey, what’s one more. A Best Buy inventory system image obtained by Engadget shows an In Stock Date of 12-11-2011 for the long overdue Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Does this mean the rumored December 8th launch is now off the table? Nah, but anything’s possible. Let’s not forget, this is Best Buy, you know, the same Best Buy set to sell the Nexus Prime. You’ll notice a lot of discrepancies and missing information on the inventory screen such as Street Date and device weight/size.

I have to admit, at this point, I really don’t care. My excitement for this device has fizzled and by the time it actually does launch, I’ll probably be broke from Christmas shopping, so it really doesn’t matter. Who knows, maybe Santa will bring me one — I mean, he does wear a red suit and all. Ho, Ho, Ho — here we go again.

U.S. Cellular customers can now purchase the HTC Flyer for as low as $399.99 when signing up for a 2-year 5GB data plan. They’re also offering the Flyer for $599.99 with a 2-year 200MB plan but that’s kind of a steep price to pay to be locked in for two years. For those interested, the HTC Flyer’s specs are decent and worth a look:

  • 7-inch touch-sensitive TFT screen (1024 x 600)
  • 1.5GHz processor
  • 32GB of internal storage/microSD expandable
  • 1GB RAM
  • Rear 5MP camera with auto focus and HD recording
  • Front-facing 1.3MP camera

The Flyer also sports a tablet-specific Sense UI, Scribe technology, and Android 2.3.4. Also included is the new Amazon storefront app, exclusive for U.S. Cellular customers, to shop Amazon.com and access 850,000 Kindle e-books.

I can’t help but think what would have become of this announcement had Best Buy stuck to their $99 pricing of the HTC Flyer — ouch! Well, there you have it. U.S. Cellular customer now have another tablet choice when shopping for plans. If you’d like more information on plans and pricing, just hit the link below.

Best Buy has been added to the growing catalog of, well… catalogs compiled and curated by TheFind.com.  Effective this coming Sunday, September 25th, the Best Buy weekly circular will be found in the same place as Crate & Barrel, Nordstrom, and William-Sonoma.  In fact, there are more than 160 catalogs with upwards of a bajillion products found on TheFind.com and its Android application.  We’d love to see other retailers added to TheFind as it could be an invaluable tool come Black Friday!  Are you listening, Toys R Us, Sears, Target, Radio Shack, Walmart….?

In a related note, the Android app has new usability features which make it easier to search for a specific catalog.  Download it for free on Android devices running 2.2 or higher, including some tablets.
