With word of an HTC One delay hitting the internet yesterday, a number of you were wondering whether or not the flagship smartphone would arrive in March. Reportedly, the UK edition is pushed back two weeks from March 15 to March 29. As for the U.S. models, we had not heard anything on either side of the matter.

According to our friends at HTC Source, the U.S. models will not be affected by the delay. A tipster on the inside claims that our localized editions are on their own timetable.

“The statement doesn’t apply to US models. The US carriers are on a separate timeline”

Of course, HTC has never given us a time frame for the release here in the United States and none of the carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile)have given any indication. With that in mind, there is technically no way for the HTC One to be delayed…yet.

HTC, as you all know, is one of the leading smartphone brands in the world, and especially in the Android space. While Apple and Samsung are two of the top mobile brands in the world, HTC has been slowly slipping in market share.  So, now it’s time to put aside the slogan of ‘Quietly Brilliant’ and take a different approach. HTC’s Global President of Sales, Jason Mackenzie, speaking recently with Fierce Wireless advised:

We’re changing the culture within HTC. Our culture has always embraced this “quietly brilliant” mentality, which meant the good things about being humble. But we’ve been too quiet. We’re embracing that we need to be a challenger. HTC is a company fighting against two of the biggest companies in the world, Apple and Samsung, who have a lot of resources. So we’re embracing that.

This is an open message from HTC to everyone else that they are ready to come back and be an aggressive competitor.Of course, HTC didn’t have a good relationship with Apple in past (who does?), but they also appeared to settle the issue.

Let’s see what happens in the future, eh? Do you think HTC is good enough to go head-to-head with Apple and Samsung? Share your thoughts with us in the comment box below.

Looking to change up your Android home screen?  It doesn’t get much easier than swapping out the wallpaper; it’s one of the quickest ways to breath new life into the mobile experience. We recently began curating a collection of wallpapers for you, dear reader, and are only too happy to share the goods!

We’ll be adding to the collection on a regular basis and will occasionally highlight a theme or specific artist’s work we really appreciate. This collection of wallpapers is centered around the common theme of “HTC Sense 5 UI“.

UPDATE: We’ve been contacted by HTC who reminds us that they are not the copyright holder for the images and that they are the properties of their respected artists. As such, we’ve decided to pull the wallpapers down. Apologies if you came here to pick one of them up, you’ll have to score an HTC One if you’d like to get them legally.

Click here to see our entire  collection of wallpapers.

Note that the wallpaper page may go through a few changes over the coming weeks and that your experience should improve with each update. If you see something that you think we’d like to share, drop us a line.  What’s more, if you have created some wallpapers of your own and want help in spreading the word, we’re your guys.

HTC today confirmed that the HTC Sense 5 UI will be coming to select existing models as part of a software update. Timing is unknown, however the models are expecting the update include variants of the One X, One X+, One S, and HTC Butterfly. As is the case with other updates of this magnitude, some of the newer and more robust features may get scrapped due to hardware limitations.

HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. Also, note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.

If you follow Android hardware, chances are you’re pretty familiar with the HTC M7, the successor to the HTC One X. The folks over at ETrade Supply managed to get their hands on what appears to be a back casing and front housing of the M7, and it’s shown off some interesting stuff.

Things we’ve noticed are that not only may the screen end up being a 4.7-incher, but we may also be looking at a dedicated camera button – not very common for HTC devices. While there’s not a front glass shown in the above video, it looks like we may be looking at a design pretty similar to the Droid DNA. The rear shows a slight hump to the back, as well.

We can’t say if this is a final design or simply a prototype, but we’d love to hear you thoughts. Be sure to leave them in the comments below.

Much is being made of the upcoming HTC M7, especially the fact that it is one of HTC’s biggest risks to date. The company is looking to gain back the market share given up to Samsung and other players over the last few quarters and is hoping for a much more profitable 2013. To do that, the M7 and any other new smartphones will need to be a hit.

One way in which HTC was able to stand out in the crowd was the way the Sense UI experience helped jazz up the Android experience. But, after a few years and seemingly similar iterations, the once-polished and friendly user interface looks dated.

The HTC M7 is slated to be the first Android smartphone to employ the Sense 5 UI, however previous models may get a new lease on life with a software update down the road. So, if you’re wondering exactly what Sense 5 might look like, wonder no more.

The seven screenshots accompanying this post come from a leaked ROM found over at XDA forums. The photos you see here are said to be running on a Droid DNA but originate from a Sprint version of the M7. For what it’s worth, rumors suggest that all four major carriers will offer the flagship device.

Just a quick note to let you all know that AT&T has indeed started offering the HTC One VX as part of its smartphone lineup. The $50 Android features a 4.5-inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel camera. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense UI, it’s the kind of first smartphone experience that we wish we had.

AT&T officially announced the HTC One VX back in October, and then in November, they said that it will hit the shelves on Nov. 16. Well, Nov.16 is history now and the smartphone is still not here, but that doesn’t mean AT&T forgot to launch it. They initially said that One VX will be launched alongside the One X+, however One X+ is here but no sign of the other one.

But may be there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. Our friends over at Android Central are reporting that an AT&T representative told them that  the device “expects to be fully stocked in all channels by Dec. 7.” Fingers crossed.

The day is just three days away, so let’s just wait for AT&T to finally come out and made it official. So if AT&T finally make it official, are you planning to grab one? Tell us about it in the comment box below.
