With word of an HTC One delay hitting the internet yesterday, a number of you were wondering whether or not the flagship smartphone would arrive in March. Reportedly, the UK edition is pushed back two weeks from March 15 to March 29. As for the U.S. models, we had not heard anything on either side of the matter.

According to our friends at HTC Source, the U.S. models will not be affected by the delay. A tipster on the inside claims that our localized editions are on their own timetable.

“The statement doesn’t apply to US models. The US carriers are on a separate timeline”

Of course, HTC has never given us a time frame for the release here in the United States and none of the carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile)have given any indication. With that in mind, there is technically no way for the HTC One to be delayed…yet.

Samsung announced back in August that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will receive the Jelly Bean treatment ‘very soon’, and today is the day when the US version of Note 10.1 is getting lucky. Samsung’s latest devices are already running Jelly Bean, and now they are working on to get rest of their capable devices to Jelly Bean as well… even though only the WiFi version of Note 10.1 (model number GT-N8013) is getting the update for now.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-10.1-Android-4.1.2-updateJelly Bean will bring some impressive features like Google Now, airview, multitasking with multiple windows, and using easy-clip to crop images, taking screenshots, expandable notifications, all these taking the Note 10.1 experience to the next level. The update is OTA, though you can update it by manually checking it in “About Tablet” or using Samsung Kies PC software as well.

Is your tablet already on the latest version? If yes, then do not forget to share your experience with us in the comment box below.

Archos launched an Android powered gaming gadget back in August known as the GamePad which was initially made available to UK buyers. Some in the United States were a tad jealous as it seemed a decent alternative to PS Vita and GameBoy. It didn’t hurt that it was also cheaper. Archos looks to be bringing this tablet to the United States as Archos rep recently confirmed it that it will arrive in February. With a price tag of $169 it doesn’t seem a bad value at all.

archos-gamepad-640x237For the money you get a 7-inch 1024×600 display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1.6GHz dual-core processor with Mali 400MP quad-core GPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage.  I guess this GamePad wouldn’t be a bad choice if you are looking for some Android gaming experience. Are you planning to buy one? Tell us in the comment box below.

We’ve been waiting and waiting, and it seems like we’ve got solid news that the ASUS Nexus 7 dock is coming to both the states and Europe this month. According to the source, ASUS Benelux says that the dock should arrive mid-January, and is speculated to be €29.99. As far as the US goes, B&H photo, who originally offered the dock for pre-order last month, shows availability of January 10th, and is selling the dock for $39.99.

The guys at StartApp just made a really useful infographic about app distribution.

Earlier this year Nielsen, an American global information and measurement company, released data comparing US smartphone users’ app adoption and usage vs. last year. The report says that the average US smartphone owners now have 41 apps on their smartphones compare to 32 apps in 2011.

All your smartphone are belong to us! Apparently no one is using their smartphone to be productive, they just want to play games!

According to Nielsen research, games continue to be the most popular app category while productivity apps find themselves on the lower rungs of the ladder. This of course doesn’t surprise me one bit, what does surprise me is the fact that 93% of the people downloading games are actually willing to pay for them! Hear that developers? You’re more likely to get paid off of games vs. any other category. Chop, chop, start churning out those games!

iOS gamers still hold a commanding lead logging around 14.7 hours of gameplay each month while Android users trail behind with around 9.3 hours of gameplay each month. With faster chipsets, gaming-centric devices and increasing game development I see these numbers skyrocketing within the next 2 years. Now if only the battery companies would get with it so I don’t have to stay tethered to my wall while playing games on my mobile.

What do you say? Do you find yourself downloading/playing mostly games or do you actually use your phone to be more productive? Check out the pretty little charts below then feel free to sound off in the comments or on our Facebook Wall. Game On!

Amazon Cloud Player, Google Music, Slacker Radio, Rdio, and a host of other similar services are set to face serious competition in the United States as Spotify preps for landing. After years of hopes and high expectations, Spotify’s website is now taking email addresses for invitations. Promising “any track, any time, anywhere” and for “free” we’re not totally sure what lies ahead for US fans although we figure it won’t be all that different from other parts of the world. If so, look for $10 per month for Premium access and unlimited streaming across your Android (and other, less cool) devices. As far as the “free” stuff goes, we would expect limited playback hours, advertisements, and lower audio quality.
