The HTC Bliss, a female-focused Android handset due in late September is expected to be among the first to feature HTC’s latest iteration of Sense.  With one month to go before the phone debuts, we recently started to see pictures of the Bliss and its custom UI.  Images are nice, sure, but they hardly tell the whole story.  Thanks to another leak out of XDA.cn we are getting five minutes of the how and what in Sense 3.5.  Hit this link to check out a great hands-on demo and early look at the new lock screens, animations, dock bar, widgets, and more!

Listen up Android hackers and modders, we’ve got a new site for you to check out.  Last week AndroidRTK opened the doors to their all-in-one resource which supplies ROMs, Themes, and Kernels for you handsets.  The organization appears to be pretty straightforward in that you select the manufacturer and model of phone.  From there you can see both stable and experimental ROMs.  Forums are available to help answer any questions or guide you through your own builds.  As AndroidRTK tells us, their site is also a great resource for developers as they will host the files on their end, giving added exposure to any work that one might wish to share.

We can imagine this is one of those cases where it only works if you join and get involved so that’s our hope with this post.  Swing by their site, check it out, and tell them what you think.  If you see room for improvement or want to get signed up, you’ll only help the cause.

Well we knew this was coming once Sony Ericsson announced unlockable bootloaders for their Xperia phones: the good folks at XDA have rooted the Xperia Arc.

So if you’ve got ahold of Sony’s shiny new phone and want to crack it open, head on over to this thread on XDA for step-by-step instructions from Bin4ry, the one behind rooting the Arc.

And if you have an Xperia Neo, keep an eye on the same thread, as a root method for that phone is coming soon as well.

The guys over at XDA Developers have released some photos of the rumoured HTC new flagship phone, the Pyramid.  It has been confirmed that the phone will be sporting a 1.2GHz processor with 768MB RAM on board.  Out-of-the-box, we’re looking at Gingerbread v. 2.3.2 and HTC Sense v. 3.0.  From the images, it looks as thought the screen is 4.3″ with 960 x 540 resolution (qHD)  There’s an 8MP cameral on the back, which we can only assume will record in 720p (maybe 1080p), as well as a VGA camera on the front.

There are a few more photos on the XDA site, but there is still no word on any release dates, or carriers, but this phone does look simply amazing, and if anyone happens to get their hands on one, and wants to donate it to their favourite AndroidGuy, hey, I won’t complain.  What say you? Is this phone worthy of being HTCs Flagship device for 2011? Which of you T-Mobile folks are lining up already?

This isn’t the first time the device has gotten its Gingerbread ROM leaked, but a new build for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 has come out via XDA and looks to bring Android 2.3.3 to the masses. (Previously, only Android 2.3.2 was released.) This is said to be the build that Samsung will soon be bringing to handsets in Europe. The folks at XDA note that this isn’t rooted, but who cares? It’s Gingerbread! Go and grab all of the details and files you’ll need at their site to get started. [Thanks to all who sent this in!]

The folks at XDA want to help get your Thunderbolt rooting experience started with an easy way to unlock that deep-level system access. Easyroot + S-Off aims to do that and sounds simple enough for the average “sort of savvy but not really” user to apply. The instructions do look daunting at first glance, but just take your time and don’t get ahead of yourself when following them. The happy people at XDA are always happy to help, too, so be sure to ask any questions you have there. [via Brief Mobile]
